Y’all think rappers should be required/enthusiastically encouraged to donate more of their money to the communities they got rich off of??

Rappers should invest in their communities in my personal opinion however OP Jay Z is the wrong person to use as an example. Jay actually does invest in the community.

no they shouldn't. Neither I or anyone else should be able to tell someone what they can do with their money. If they want to trick it off on these harlots, then let them. They've earned it. The sad thing is that in these communities, there are activites actually putting in work with food drives and programs that everyone ignores. So many people want a handout. It's strange that everyone claims the hood has no money, but for some reason, these musty arabs can stay in business generating hundreds of thousands a year selling beer and loosies IN BLACK NEIGHBORHOODS!!!! No one asked these the musty arab to give their tax free dollars back to the community.

I've been involved with food drives, setting up to register people to vote, and all types of things in black areas to help people less privileged than I am. Do you know how many people in need actually show up to these events? FREE summer reading programs, how many underprivileged people send their kids to these programs? I care more about hoods that I'm not from and never lived at than people that live there. The rapper that was contributing to his hood, yall called him a sellout and ridiculed him for filing bankruptcy 30 years ago.

It's hypocritical if you're against more social services, taxes, universal healthcare etc and then turn around and tell celibrities what they should do with their money. If you want better wealth redistribution well it's called taxing the rich. But to some that's "communism" so:yeshrug:

I'd be surprised if the majority of rappers have enough money to even care past their immediate family.

the amount of rappers in that 100-500 million range or whatever you listed is probably marginal.

I'm also not one for just writing blank checks to organizations. there's 2 much corruption in the world.

I fukk with snoop Dogg. he did all those football programs. that would be more my speed. touch the soil get your hands dirty and really change lives. I'd actually feel something 2. writing blank checks would do nothing for me.
This

Snoop saved a lot of lives with that football league

The "musty Arabs" give it back to their community or keep it in their community, which is what we keep being told is why we're behind.

And I hope that last sentence ain't about Hammer lol

This sounds ridiculous, 😂, salute tho for your perspective.

“Stop pocket watching yo!!” is broke people bum talk…these guys are worth hundreds of millions and billions, that don’t apply..help your damn people man! And I’m inclined to think he ain’t doing ish because for one, gentrification aside, Marcy is still trash, 🤮. The conditions in the hood in general maybe even worse now than when he was coming up. And for two, everything he does always gets publicized, lol…why wouldn’t doing something to fix some of the wrongs in the community/society be publicized if it was happening? Not just throw money at the problems either tho that would be nice too…I mean infrastructure shyt, he has limitless resources. Giving multi-billionaires a pass for not doing shyt because “Maybe they do” is trash. Alright, and maybe they don’t…where does that leave us and the community? Ain’t shyt changing..if they are doing something it ain’t working.

And again, not just him, all of these dudes. What has Kanye done to aid in cleaning up Chicago? No, he doesn’t have to do shyt…he can direct all of his passion in life on fashion and celebrity bullshyt if he chooses to…my thing is why tho? Like, why aren’t you passionate about 100 shootings any random week in the city that raised you and you was worth 7 billion dollars and could actually do something about it? The fukk is wrong with you? It’s a war zone…but your war is with Adidas and Pete Davis. Etc..

If y’all alright with them doing nothing…or you’re alright with “hey, maybe they are doing something, 🤷🏽‍♂️” then more power to you…shyt is disgusting to me tho. And more disgusting than that is that broke, destitute people talk from that perspective, smh. Any black person worth 9 figures plus who ain’t putting a concerted effort into fixing the black plight in America and balancing the playing field as much as they can is a Kewn in every sense of the word…and anybody defending their complacency and lack of care/effort “Cause Dey got kids to feed and 10 million dollar watches to buy!!” is a lame and a meat eater. Their kids won’t starve if they open a couple legit, respected businesses in the community and provide jobs for people…and that’s just one of countless other things they can and should be doing. You shouldn’t feel like you have to…you should want to, should be an accepted responsibility. Y’all minds is so stuck on being bums you can’t even think outside the bum box, lol, talking that petty ass talk about some damn billionaires who just don’t care about you. Some ol “Michael Jordan ain’t gotta speak about or help the black community, just shut up and dribble and I’m a buy them J’s” Fox type nigs
One must never make public practice of their good deeds.

Heres how Black people can begin to thrive as a whole.

Economics.

There's a lot of rich Black Americans who made their fortune off of entertainment. Music. Comedy. Movies. Sports.

Yet, the white man makes 90% of the profit off of any one rapper or ball player.

SOHH.

If the rapper made 100% of the profit from his art, and he employed only Black people from his home town to do all the jobs involved, then they could start to thrive as a community.

Rappers are not "obligated" to "donate". But if they are about being part of the cure, they would pump this economic resource into the community.

This will meet with great resistance from the NBA, Universal records, MGM, and whatever companies currently pimp the Black entertainers for most of the profit the entertainer generates.

But THAT would be the fix. For the Black people with means to start to control their own output (100% control, not a small percentage). AND to employ people from around their way to all the necessary jobs.
