Most women actually end up with somebody. (Edit: For a period of time at least because dudes tend to die sooner than women. Most widowers are female…so yeah women will
end up single.)
You gotta qualify what single means. Also when women get older, their priorities change. They still want companionship, but living with a man? Having one fukk up ur decorative towels? Past child-bearing years?!
Believe it or not, a lotta older women like the idea of boyfriends that have their own cribs, more than living with husbands. You may still find those economically struggling who may feel the need to use a man for a hot and a cot. But the older chicks approaching retirement from decent careers, they more bothered about taking cruises than they are a man. I would have thought it was different, especially due to becoming more vulnerable with age. But a lotta older women try to avoid becoming a “nurse and a purse” to a man or “having a man live over them”. Direct quotes.
They like the idea of romantic love, but not the hoopla that goes with it. Lately, it’s been the dudes pushing the “let’s move in together” energy. Two of my divorced colleagues are like this. They wanna do that together but alone lifestyle where they just have lifetime companions but not live together.
Some just don’t see the value in a lotta stuff anymore. It might change in the future, but I’ve seen elderly women even more adamant about this stuff.
