That's correct. They could get in-fight sponsors as normal around a decade ago, but the UFC cracked down. First, they started taking the lionshare of money by demanding any company that wanted to sponsor at UFC fighter during a fight give the UFC six figures first. Later, they had one manufacturer make all of the shorts and did away with in-cage sponsorships all together.
