Pre social media caused people to develop more conversation and interpersonal skills.

The early days of social media were good too. When they started opening up Facebook to everyone and IG and Twitter popped up a short time later and more recently Snapchat it started giving a platform to any old idiot.

You were forced to get out and be social to form relationships with people 20-30 years ago now you can share a picture or post and reach thousands or more. Before the early 2000s you had better know how to me talk or you would be sitting up looking at the wall like a weirdo. Now people can just pull out a phone and call, text, check their social media, their favorite teams scores and highlights etc.

Some people use it to better themselves and help others while some use it to attention whore.

I see where OP is coming from especially when it comes to the gender war of things. But I will say this when your out in the real world it's still different then the internet. Approaching a women in the real world is still more effective than online. If you knew how life was before social media you have an advantage in the interpersonal skills department. I could never identify with the men who are 18 - 30 sexless because i've been in a time where you didn't have the internet to shoot your shot on a woman and had to do it in real time.

People recording every L you take.

you ain’t lying. nowadays you either better know how to handle yourself or keep to yourself out in public. fukk around and get slammed hard on cam, and people are able to laugh about it for the rest of your life.

Both of these men will remember this day for the rest of their lives. And so will their friends and loved ones.

I was too young, by the time I tried to hop on Myspace it was over with. And clubs? That shyt was long dead:shaq2:

Clubs died around 2014. RIP it was a good run

MySpace and early Facebook was cool because it was about really networking.
Now social media like Instagram is ego boost and super super fronting

Yeah myspace and FB before these lame updates was decent. Wasnt so much about attention whoring, it was more about being connected with people. Sad for everyone that missed out

2005-2013
what era :wow: :wow:
that was the sweet spot.

My thoughts exactly. Clubs died in 2014-2015 when snapchat and IG were in full force :scust:

Nope.

Easier to meet people, now.

Only drawback is that stupidity and ignorance are seen as virtues.

This is actually part of the problem

People now consider having a bunch of friends/followers online they don’t know irl “meeting people”

It was definitely easier to meet people, or women at least, before social media. :unimpressed:

I realized this long ago. What double down on it recently was the NYT story on hulu about the incel who hacked all the poppin twitter accts and was asking for bitcoin and all that shyt.
this dude got everyones info just calling twitter employees pretending to be IT. Cant be.

one of the people interviewed said something very profound stating all these institutions are re-structuring thier business on something that is like sand.

no one can keep up with the internet and social media. Its utter fukkery and chaos.

and now people want to just dump thier money into it via cryptocurrency? Nah bluh im not riding that wave.

Don't have to sit and think about it. I see it, in the moment, all the time. Just yesterday, when that grocery store got shot up, you had that dude who was in front of the store filming dead people in the streets, not getting out of the way of an active shooter situation, arguing with the police when they told him to get the fukk out of there, and supposedly ignored a call from his friend INSIDE THE STORE to keep filming the scene on his phone.

Clout and social media attention is a mind parasite. Its sad. I can't act like I don't addictively pick up my phone and browse twitter or here at least once every hour. I almost want to throw out my smart phone and get a flip phone because of that. But this is what these devices and the platforms a programmed to do to us as a society. shyt is a disease.
