The heinous and grotesque nature of crime suggests rage and hatred, not wanton robbery or murder. Only a deranged murder would mutilate a man before or after killing him. Wright's injuries and torture imply someone had a grudge against him. If indeed Alfred Wright was having an affair with Ener's daughter then suspicion squarely falls on Ener's shoulders.
