Y'all on that #ReleaseTheSchumacherCut wave yet?

So there is reportedly 40 extra minutes of footage form the Joel Schumacher film BATMAN FOREVER and supposedly Schumacher's vision was to make a darker film than what was released but WB execs wanted a lighter film and they forced Schumacher to make cuts.

With the success of the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement and the momentum behind the recently started #ReleaseTheAyerCut, fans of Joel Schumacher are trying to get enough attention for their movement to get Schumacher's oroginal vision of BATMAN FOREVER released on HBO MAX too.

The fly in the ointment is that the footage might not even exist anymore.

Here are some of the things that were cut from Schumacher's original cut of the movie:

I really do want to see Bruce vs what I'm assuming would've been Man-Bat though.

I'm legit curious about what exactly they mean about the original cut being more darker/serious because my recollection of BATMAN FOREVER is that it was goofy as hell.

That wasn't man bat... that scenes also in the deleted scenes on the dvd. Some kind of metaphor about bruce coming to terms with the demon within or whatever.

I'd be happy if they at least included this scene


It ties up a lot of loose ends from the theatrical version. It explains the whole thing about the red book, why Bruce felt so guilty and why it really wasn't his fault. It explains the ending when he tells Riddler that he's Batman not because he has to be but because he chooses to be. It also explains the vision the Riddler has of the giant bat flying toward him.

It wouldn't have made it a great movie but it would've been a lot deeper and thematically satisfying than the version we got

Tommys performance is really Reeeeeallly the issue with this film. Jim could've been maybe a bit more darker but his Riddler worked dude was a scene stealerI am curious about this other version though and I remember watching that clip
