But I do remember that being common practice in the mixtape era...

I see where Z-ro is coming from. But I also see where the producers are coming from.

I think producers want to get their credit and don't want their beats stolen.

While Ro wants his songs to have minimum gimmicks and unnecessary sound FX. A lot of times these tags might not even fit the mood of the beat.

Like you got some chick seductively saying the "producer/DJ" name but you want to write about how you had it hard in the streets like that doesn't fit the overall tone your setting for the project.

So many of Z-Ro’s projects from like 2007-2014 clearly had small budgets. The mixing and mastering were so bad.

Beyonce jumped on that Houston wave doing that song with slim thug. That 04/05 Houston wave was rolling until all them internal beefs . She milked it and bounced and trae slapping Mike didn't help either
