Also, do you follow football? Heading into this week Purdy was leading most advanced metrics. He had more "air yards" than any other QB in the league and the lowest percentage of YAC in history....
He's got one of the best deep ball accuracy percentages in the league as well.
Through 25 starts, there's only 2 QB's with more impressive advanced numbers than him. And before anyone says "well look at the weapons.." he's been doing it this year without CMC and Kittle and Deebo have missed time as well... AND.... they have one of the worst rated offensive lines in the league too.
Does that mean he's going to be a hall of famer or something? No.... who knows.... but he's been good

There was no free runner, the defense sent 6 and the RB stayed in to protect. Saying the ball needs to come out earlier is lazy analysis, it's not like he took a sack because he didn't see the blitz, his arm was hit as he was throwing the ball. This wasn't a problem with reading the defense or making an inaccurate throw, the protection got beat. Not every bad play is the quarterback's fault.

Especially this year when the entire pool of QBs in the league look mediocre. Like, who has really been a tier above Purdy this year?

QB play this year has fallen off across the league generally speaking. Brock Purdy isn't even close to the problem with the 49ers this year. Taking statistics out of it he has generally made enough plays to put the team in the position to win games. If anything the organization is not putting him in the best position to succeed.

It's funny because if Purdy was actually playing poorly niner fans are not the fanbase that's going to pretend lol.... We spent YEARS wanting to get rid of Jimmy G and we spent YEARS wishing they'd bench Alex Smith etc...

Yeah, Pat just destroyed every argument with those stats. Purdy is the furthest thing from a "game manager" now. He's at the top of the league in throw difficulty and air yards. He's almost never throwing check downs or screens.
