How far away is California from Florida? :dahell: Man i gotta say i been shocked this entire situation at how popular this young man was. Even being famous less than 2 years

Then again Kurt Cobain was in the mainstream less than 3 years and Biggie less than 3 years also.

If this is the Tupac of the Xanax generation i wonder who will be the Biggie if there really is someone who will be next as people say :jbhmm:

Who is another rapper this youth looks up to?

X was not the “Tupac” of this generation, at best in 20 years down the line he’ll be remembered like Big L, Big Pun, ODB. Someone who was extremely talented and made interesting music in an interesting style and who penetrated mainstream culture to a degree but was still somewhat of a niche commodity. To be the Pac or Big of this generation means massive worldwide success with every demographic. The Big and Pac of this generation is Drake and Kendrick.

I’ve seen all kinds of opinions and perspectives the past day over this situation, and it’s probably the most interesting thing I’ve seen all year. The impact of fake news and micro platforms on this generation is the lesson to be learned here

One thing I can say for certain is his domestic abuse allegations is the only thing I’m taking seriously about any of his past transgressions, and that situation was up to a court of law to judge and decide. He wasn’t a “violent homophobe” or a Dylann Roof supporter as some people might have interpreted. And he wasn’t someone who murdered or sold drugs and created reckless situations out of spite. It’s so much deserved context that goes into this really complex person that none of us can even fully provide. But knowing what we do know, I don’t think he deserves the kind of backlash he’s been getting, and I do think he should be cut some slack and examined in a more positive light.

On top of the fact that to die at 20 is just heartbreaking

as far as cult leader goes you remind me of a youtube comment i read online months ago explaining why this current rap is the new rock and roll from the new stars like XXXTentacion, Uzi Vert, etc, their image and features, demeanor, etc.

i don't know too much about grunge but doesn't this new rap just remind you of that imagery?

it does, but you have to look at it this way

due to the internet/technology , genres are blending in with each other more and more these days

just look at how basic rap was and look at it now, you can blend so many genres and come up with something
alot of the younger generation grew up on the internet and some listened to multiple genres

the overall sound of rap will change again in the next couple of years

honestly i think the rap sound and rap culture as a whole will be dead in a couple years and officially by 2030

ive said before i think r and b predominantly by black women will make a huge comeback. that is what has been bubbling underground a couple years as we all know and it will come to the mainstream. the men like usher and trey songz were going too hard with trying to be sex symbols but the women are who are causing the resurgence now. i already know the women who will be apart of the new wave in the mainstream too.

so that...r and b dominated by black women and also afrobeat will be another genre that explodes and african music in general is brought to the forefront more....

possibly soca and reggae too(dancehall has gotten too predictable)

the 2020s will be anti-rap...you can quote me on that...

hopefully r n b does make a proper come back, im more of an old school r n b type guy

personally im not sure if i agree with the 2020s being anti rap, raping is still a serious art form plus the entertainment factor is still a huge element

Exactly. Dude was a millionaire, what's wrong with whipping a beamer. Cats acting like hes not supposed to live good..his only mistake was moving around like that solo and broadcasting to much. He was out buying shyt likely because he was depressed, dude barely left his house.
