Xenoblade Chronicles 2

47 reviews in. So about halfway there maybe? And sitting at 85. I knew there was no chance of it scoring like the first game, which released in a much different climate when it seemed like JRPG's were on the way out. We've had FF XV, Nier and Persona all release in the last 12 months and DQ XI, KH III and Ocotopath Traveler all set to release next year. It's a much healthier climate for JRPG's now so obviously it won't make quite the same impact the first did. Not to mention fans literally had to get for that first game to be brought to America.

From what I've read, if you didn't like the first 2 games there's zero chance you're gonna like this one. So don't bother if you weren't feeling them. Also, tutorials are not great and you can't replay them. There's a lot of systems at play so it's easy to get lost in it but you either gotta find your own way through it or use an online guide cause tutorials are weak.

The first game is among my top 5 of all time, even if this game comes up a bit short in comparison, I'll still be happy if its a strong sequel.

I can tell from some of the reviews I'm reading that they wouldn't have liked the first game either. I think folks who are fans of the series from the start will love this...let me know if I'm right tomorrow brehs. I'll be joining the adventure on Christmas.

There are multiple reviews on YouTube that say it's better than the original.

The sentiment I'm seeing is that if you loved the first game, you'll love this one too.

The music is said to be on par with the first game, which is extremely high praise obviously
