i hope it's xcom that was my shyt. i wouldn't be mad if they rebooted advent rising though. the game had a lot of potential the technology back then couldn't handle what they wanted to do though.

Is 2K's ADVENT the new XCOM?
2K teaser images hint at a new entry in the XCOM franchise
By Neil Bolt on 27 May 2015
It seems that the recent ADVENT tease from 2K could well be the next iteration of the turn-based squad shooter XCOM and may be a reboot of the original X-COM Apocalypse.

In a 2K newsletter yesterday the link to this website was included, showing a utopian cityscape owned and run by a company named ADVENT. The website promises a great and peaceful future in ADVENT city centers, with testimonies from its citizens, but the website’s text glitches and changes to suggest that all is not truly legitimate with the ADVENT company and that there may be sinister undertones to their work.

The reasons this could be the new XCOM? Well, the visual style in the screenshots of the city already feel similar to that of Enemy Unknown and Enemy Within, not to mention that the glitching text also bears strong resemblance to the font style of those games as well. Also of note is the message ‘’We are still watching," which echoes the Council from XCOM’s ‘’Remember, we will be watching’’ sign off.

The futuristic cityscape and suggestion that ADVENT could be an acronym for a sinister force like Enemy Within’s EXALT ties in with the themes of 1997’s X-COM Apocalypse. 2012’s Enemy Unknown was a reboot of British developer Julian Gollop’s own 1993 title UFO: Enemy Unknown, so it is quite possible that current developers Firaxis could draw from the well of the past games once again.
Many had speculated that the dystopian themes and mentions of gene splicing could be alluding to a new BioShock or even a return to System Shock, but the signs do seem to be pointing towards more tactical alien warfare from Firaxis.

The Enigma of 2K’s “Advent” Teaser Site Has Been Cracked: it’s a New XCOM Game

In the past few days, 2K Games has kept adding more and more hacking elements to its “Advent” teaser site, but the enigma has already been cracked by eagle eyed Reddit users. As some already guessed, it’s indeed a new XCOM game.

Hidden within the site, there is this link, that hides (not very well) the letters “GFIILOD” in black, and links to the pamphlet.

In the pamphlet, there’s a picture with what seems to be a cellular structure, but it’s simply a way to hide the letters “NCOVO” in red.

Now we can put the letters together, and we get “GFIILOD NCOVO.” Meaningless? Not at all. It’s just the anagram of “Vigilo Confido,” the motto that appears on the emblem of the XCOM in that masterpiece that was XCOM: Enemy Unknown.

The official announcement should be coming soon, but in the meanwhile, we can be definitely confident (yes, I made a pun), that a new XCOM game is coming. interesting, what has been shown so far really reminds me of XCOM: Apocalypse from 1997.

You can get into the mood by listening to this threatening audio file, that has recently been added to the teaser site.

XCOM 2 Announced -- IGN First
2.2k
Fight to free Earth from alien domination in the PC-exclusive sequel.
By Dan StapletonLast week, 2K teased us with a cryptic website: AdventFuture.org. On it, a supposedly utopian near-future government called the Advent Administration offered a better life for citizens through genetic enhancement, while hackers subversively replaced text and images revealing that Advent isn’t as benevolent as it seems.
Today, IGN First officially announces that the game 2K hinted at is in fact Firaxis Games’ XCOM 2, a full sequel to 2012’s critically acclaimed XCOM: Enemy Unknown and a continuation of the now 20-year-old legendary turn-based tactical squad combat series, which will be available exclusively on PC this November. Watch the debut trailer above for a glimpse into a future where the aliens are in control of the Earth, and XCOM has gone underground to fight to overthrow their Advent government. This new guerrilla force will face more powerful enemies in unpredictable combat scenarios as they fight to turn the tables on a technologically superior enemy.
