Xbox had a crappy exclusive in crossfire X and got more mid coming this year with Redfall and Medium if that game didn’t already come out. I Highly doubt star field releasing this year .

This is a terrible idea.

First off, it's proven that costs that hit the triple digit range are far more acceptable for this type of consumer if broken down monthly.

Secondly, Gamepass Ultimate is $15 a month, and a good portion of it's subscribers are likely using the $1 conversion method. Asking people to pay $25 a month is probably asking too much.

And even if they did go annual, the "Sony is basically asking you to buy a new console every year" reactions would be near instant.
