The GamesBeats Decides podcast spoke on this and Jeff Grubb's conclusion as to why Microsoft sold so many consoles in June makes more sense than anything I'm seeing in here from either side of this conversation.

Microsoft strategically allocated a lot of units to NA during June because they had intentions of having a Big E3 this year. To put it simply, Micorosoft had the most revenue on their patform last month because they took E3 seriously while Sony decided to not participate. Sony will probably do the same whenever they have their next big State of Play or whatever they have planned.

I literally said this lol

E3 helped them out in a big way. As much as people want to try and count out E3 as long as Microsoft keeps doing it and doing them well they probably shouldn't.

E3 was a big win for both Nintendo and Microsoft and that translated to sales and good PR.

sony supplied more units to its other markets, especially the UK and China last month. pretty clear cut

i'd put any amount of money on the fact that global sales sony was still vastly dominate

Stop breh, you said Sony sent more units world wide and less in the US.

I said because of E3 people went out and picked up more units (including series S)

Not the same
how can people pick up more units of something that doesn’t exist. It’s exactly what I said in different words. Both microsoft and Sony are selling out of consoles as soon as they ship. Microsoft didn’t just create more units out of thin air for E3 they diverted shipments from other markets which is why places like India didn’t get any series consoles in June and may while they were the best selling console there the month before that. If Sony ships everything they have to the US in june all those PS5's would sell out, and we get a different result.

If E3 is whats selling Series s' and that is the deciding factor for the split then you are ultimately agreeing with me that Series S' are not selling out as fast (or at all) as the other two without the E3 bump

So I'm confused, who won NPD for June 2021?

Always have to find the real story when dealing with OP:

NPD Group’s U.S. video game retail report for the month of June 2021 is in, and it reveals an overall increase in consumer spending compared to the same period last year.

In terms of hardware, Xbox Series X/S was the best-selling platform in dollar sales. However, it was Nintendo Switch that sold the most units. Xbox’s June dollar sales set a new record for Microsoft, beating a previous record the company set in June 2011.

PlayStation 5 remains the fastest-selling console in U.S. history. However, sales have been somewhat hampered by supply constraints. Sony’s console has been notoriously difficult to get a hold of among new hardware.

In terms of software, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was June’s best-selling game in the U.S. Rift Apart achieved the highest launch month dollar sales in Ratchet & Clank franchise history. According to NPD, the game’s launch month sales doubled those of 2016’s Ratchet & Clank.

they're bragging about selling the most systems and thats not even true, nintendo still sold the most consoles. Microsoft will never have the best selling console in any month

That's like saying Game Pass picked up more subs in a month than PS Now or Nintendo did and neither of those will have a month adding more subs than Game Pass does. In reality that's not either of those companies primary objective so using that as a measuring stick is faulty to begin with.

Look bruh, WTF does all that gotta do with the threads topic?

So you saying they didn't win June?

Ok, could you provide proof? You didn't link anything you wrote which is unusual so it's likely you got your story from a source that isn't worthy of being quoted. I been doing this for decades, you gotta do better to fool me

but thats literally what the thread is about.:dwillhuh:

if sony stans make a thread about how PSNOW got more new subscribers last month than Gamepass then it would be well within your right to call them on the bs
