One thing you should be aware of is the xbox brand is hemorrhaging money at this point. they giving away these consoles as a loss, and the higher ups is trimming the fat... they have all this product and no one wants it, they had to employ like 3 huge price cuts... and bundle two games to get people interested plus gift cards...

sony doesnt sound that desperate in my opinion...

also Sony will declare bankruptcy before if ever they go outta business... 15.1 million sold worldwide at regular retail price.... thats alot of money...

Most that wanted either console would grab that over a PS4. An Xbox one with 2 games and a $50 gift card for $330

Once again the giftcard was a limited door buster deal. The majority of Xbox consoles sold did not have a giftcard attached.

PS4 was $399 with two games. X1 $329 with two less popular games.

If someone wanted a PS4 they weren't gonna skip over it for $70 especially when they'd probably just spend that same $70 on GTA.

$70 is a significant discount for a product that retails for $400 no matter how you want to slice it. For the console crowd it's been shown that even a $50 discount has a significant impact. Not really sure what your angle is here.

That was always one of the biggest factors. We all know the forcing of the Kinect is what got Microsoft in a bigger hole after the DRM nonsense. The market spoke, the Kinect was seen as an unnecessary $100 accessory.

First of all, the Xbox one has only been cheaper for a month. The results will come soon and I expect them to win the next month out.

Second, Nintendo has dug themselves in this hole. I've been arguing about it since the Wii. They disrespected the loyal gamer for the casuals. It was a short term gain, but put their console business going forward in a tough spot. The Wii U name doesn't help either. Gamers felt burned and casuals don't care. Stop bringing up Nintendo if you are not going to come forward with a good argument, the writing was on the wall for the Wii U as soon as the name was revealed. None of this is shocking.
