Yeah but luckily for Microsoft, Gears Of War doesn't seem to have much in the way of direct competition. I can't think of any multiplayer 3rd person shooter that rivals the entertainment value Gears provides. They have the exact same stranglehold on TPS that Halo had on FPS did before the OG modern warfare dropped.2019. And it's lost much of its appeal.
Don't respond with Fortnite please, battle Royale is its own genre by itself. It'd be like comparing Madden to Street fighter. Gears will continue to sell well each release until somebody can get them out the paint.
People will show up for Gears 6 just to body nikkas with the Gnasher just like the 5 games that preceded it. Clutching 1v5s on TDM with no lives left is a crazy adrenaline. You can't get that shotgun experience anywhere else.
Speaking of which, the Gears Of War series has the GOAT shotgun, and it ain't even close

Xbox needs a single player open world exclusive. Something like Hitman or Metal Gear mixed with GTA....you got a bunch of missions, upgrades etc., like GTA but you can attack the missions any way you want like Hitman.
