Why are they waiting so long to reveal this?

It'll leak soon enough. Cats keep wanting the rumored specs of the Durango to be false completing ignoring the facts that all of the rumors on the ps4 were right (Eurogamer did hint about the bump up to 8GB of GDDR5). So assuming the rumors on the Durango specs are right, I'm gonna pay attention to:

1) Used Game blocking
2) always online
3) Kinect being built in (which definitely takes away from what they could have done)
4) EA partnership - if it's exclusive DLC, then that is . Hopefully it's not BF4

The cable box thing is I don't see being false either since MS has been hinting at that for a minute.

If Kinect "sensors" are truly built in and not a standalone piece of hardware like right now, that is definitely something I wonder about. And it's not some cheap thing they are throwing in there (again if true). Instead of putting that shyt in as part of the system, they could do a lot more with it. The rumors of 2-3 GBs of the 8GB rumored dedicted to the OS/Kinect is if true

Put it towards the damn games!

I hope they do dedicate 2-3GB towards the OS and just put more ram in the system. MS is a software company and have shown that they know how to make a much better dedicated software OS then Sonys pos from last gen and half ass ps4 concept. a newer built up live 3.0 and 2-3 gigs

I doubt they add more ram bruh. and the leaks about the specs are not from last year, they are recent. Focusing on trying to do everything instead of gaming might cost them.

The xbox division has been shutdown since july, those specs are from the developers conference last feb. the concept is the same but it could have been tweaked do i know if it has? who knows we will find out. the beta dev kits contain a AMD 7970 to emulate the hardware for the next xbox. this is why we still have no clue if they're confirmed. VGleaks received the same document I HAVE from superdae

A 32mb memory pool with latency that can almost match an L2 cache is extremely useful they dont even need to change the ram just up the DDR3 amount

They had a post on Neofag essentially confirming the specs haven't changed from the leaked documents though fam. Best they can do is add more ram, but any architecture change aint happening.

If the cable box thing is true though, having the system serve as an HD DVR and gaming system could be costly. You got digital downloads taking up space on your drive and now movies/shows. They gotta put a decent sized drive in that bytch, an absolute minimum of 500GB.

It's one of the rumors (not the ones confirmed in the documentation though).
