As it should be :ahh:

Fox is yet to order its first pilot this January. Among the scripts that are heating up is the action-adventure X-Men series written by Burn Notice creator Matt Nix. Early versions of the script had been received enthusiastically at Fox as well as producing studios 20th Century Fox TV and Marvel TV. Fox chairman Gary Newman noted to Deadline that he expects the final draft to come in shortly and a pilot pickup within the next week or two. Exploratory casting is already underway, with the process expected to ramp up once the official greenlight comes.

The untitled series, which had a put pilot commitment, focuses on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive. The show appears particularly timely, dealing with the plight of minorities in society.

Nix exec produced with Bryan Singer, Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, plus Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory.

The X-Men series is one of two marquee superhero dramas with big commitments at Fox this season, along with DC/Warner Bros. TV’s Black Lightning. A pending pickup for X-Men has no bearing on Black Lightning. The two series can easily coexist together, Fox entertainment president David Madden said.

Unless it's on a paid service (HBO, Showtime, Netflix) or at least FX or AMC, what's the fukking point? If it's on one of the big networks like ABC, Fox or CBS, you know it will be neutered, easily digestable trash made for the masses trying to cash in on the comic book cinematic wave...:camby:

X-Men isn't a TV-MA type of series, if it's TV-14 they can do everything they need to do. Even Breaking Bad got away with a lot of AMC. All types of blood, some cursing etc.

I think an X-Men series would work very well if done right. There's so many characters so it allows room for more character development. This could have a lot of potential. But I'm not counting on it.

I probably won't honestly, but I can be disappointed knowing a potential great show being ruined before it even gets off the ground. This is like if Fences had been greenlit and the producers cast Tyler Perry and Mo'nique in the starring roles. This is like Jay Elect dropping an lp with beats solely by Solarr the super producer.

Thought it was gonna be with major characters. :shaq2:
If they wanted a Game of Thrones level of success show that's all they had to do. Guess movies only make more money.

They don't hear you though. If they just started with the triple OG original 5 X-men as teenagers and built from there, it could be truly epic.

I'd definitely watch a netflix series on Scott, Jean, Bobby, Warren, and Hank with Prof X teaching them how to utilize their abilities in training while heading to school. Kinda like a live action X-Men Evolution with just the OG 5 for a season or 2 leading to them facing off against Mag the gawd :ehh:
