They should have ended the series with Apocalypse and do a soft reboot with New Mutants. You can start fresh with the New Mutants characters and X-Force characters and even tie it together with Deadpool. Since Jackman is done you can probably make Deadpool the center of the X-Men cinematic universe like Tony Stark is in the MCU and what it looks WB is starting to do with Wonder Woman in the DCEU.
I hope the movie is great and a financial success.
