As for Lilandra, she was never really a villain. The Phoenix was legit dangerous, and her fixation on destroying the Phoenix makes sense, even if it's extreme. She never had any ill will against the X-men, she was only looking out for the best intentions of her people.

IIRC, I think they have to go five years without officially putting a movie into production. It's what happened to Daredevil and Punisher.

To my understanding Fox gets to keep the rights as long as they make at least one X-film every seven years or so. Marvel got Daredevil back because Fox took too long to get another movie out. This gives me hope for the Fantastic Four coming home, since MBJ is in Black Panther. I highly doubt anyone from the 2015 FF is interested in coming back, and rebooting the franchise AGAIN after two mediocre installments and a dumpster fire would be a VERY tough sell.

EDIT: Norrin is right, it's probably closer to five years instead of seven.
