Quicksilver saving everyone was the best scene in the entire movie.

This was supposed to be a three part franchise, as introducing one of the biggest villains in Marvel history and then killing him off in a very cheesy "Phoenix" scene was bad all around. Angel, Storm and Psyclock weren't needed, as I'm guessing Singer saw them in the comics and thought "oh hey I can work the 4 horsemen into this somehow...even though Cain, Gambit, Wolverine and Angel were poorly implemented in the film. Speaking of which, they honestly didn't need Jackman running around yet again, half naked, killing fodder. It was pointless and forced.

This film is an absolute insult. To even think that the great magneto would bow himself to an inferior mutant. Perhaps if he would have offered a rulership side by side instead of servitude. The mightiest of our race.. What a world that could have been.

i thought the movie was better than some are making it out to be. good action too tho i hate the obvious wirework they always do in these films ie. when wolverine jumps for his first kill in weapon x facility.

the new team of nightcrawler, storm, jean, cyclopse, beast, mystique could be dope.

tho the end credits scene is OBVIOUSLY about siniser cloning wolverine to make x23 since they will replace wolverine which is WACk as i hate that character. too many dope xmen to be adding her.

yea apoc was ehhh, corny, didnt have the voice or the powers (only grew large in a battle of minds not in the real world), i still think the movie was more entertaining than bad. maybe its cause of my first watch but i though DOFP was much more boring than this.

and again, quicklsilver stole the show

Despite the reviews, I was still very optimistic.

This is very very mediocre from an objective standpoint. I can understand the awful reviews. I personally did not like it.

Fortunately, it isn't the franchise killer I was reading about.

Still not very good though.

I'm starting to think Apocalypse may have just been too powerful to pull off a good movie, which was my initial fear.

Once again quicksilver is the best part of the whole movie.

I'm sure X-Men is gonna continue the trend of focusing on three characters. In the newer movies, its been Xavier, Magneto, & Mystique (plus Wolverine anyway they can).

Based on a formula I don't expect to change, they can really phase Mystique out with the arrival of Jean. I'm sure Jennifer Lawrence is aware, as she put some shyt out there that Fassbender, Mcavoy, & herself are a packaged deal.

couple good things:
them doing a version of Barry Windsor-Smith Weapon X was cool

I liked the way they portrayed battling on the astral plane & physical world simultaneously

even though the Quicksilver scene was pretty much a retread of DOFP, it still came off well

lots of bad things:
Stumbling over words puppy love Prof X was a bad look & that whole romance subplot was such a weird throughline in the movie.

Hey Psylocke, you know that psychic knife of yours? Let's just randomly make it a whip so you can choke bytches and a sword that can cut through buildings b/c whatever.

Lets show more scenes from First Class.

Lets take more dialogue chunks from X-Men 1.

Does anyone love a set piece more than Singer and Cerebro? Every damn movie instead of it being a story device to allow them to find people quickly, he has to spend multiple scenes showing Prof X's equivalent of scrolling through his contacts.

Someone killed my family. Let me strip all the metal from Earth for this random blue dude. He did make me a new helmet and all (which I could always do myself b/c I'm fukking Magneto.) Get a gift, pull metal from landmarks across the globe (but only show 2-3 of them. Budgets.)

Pyramids apparently have rock slab self-destructs built in them?

For no fukking reason, here's off-brand Caliban as an underground mutant travel agent.

Jennifer Lawrence & Nicholas **** star as actors who got assured less make-up for this picture.

Lets throw Jubilee in as basically an extra.

Better yet, throw in a bunch of new and old characters and have no real development with any of them other than what side they're on and call it a movie.

Basically, while this could be decent watch from a spectacle standpoint, from a story & character perspective, it's pretty damn empty.
