Because he isn't an idiot. If he would have brought them in, he would have been paying some of them double or triple of his top stars.

And some of the them didn't want to come in right away, like Goldberg. Who the fukk would want to work when you can get paid your ENTIRE salary and do NOTHING for a year and a half?

Exactly, Vince is one of the smartest wrestling promoters ever. They would've lost a TON of money if he would've bought out all those contracts, it wasn't possible. Invasion is still the highest rated ppv outside of Wrestlemania of all-time, it worked.

:heh: Vince's delusional ass lost $35 million on the XFL, they definitely had enough to pay for those contracts. Vince got full of himself and thought he could create a alternative football league to the NFL during its offseason.

I enjoyed the angle even though it became :trash: towards the end.

When it started out I was :gladbron:

I remember how retarded it was when they did the first "new WCW" match with Buff/Booker. :dead:

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
It was especially depressing the night after the Invasion angle ended- Ric Flair showed up. Then the nWo shortly afterwards. Then, Rey Jr, Scott Steiner, and Goldberg the following year. Guys who could've been used in that angle. Instead your biggest threats in that invasion angle were Booker, DDP, RVD, Rhyno (for a while), and fukkin' Shane McMahon.

They basically turned the whole angle from WWF vs WCW/ECW into another McMahon family feud.

If I remember correctly, the invasion angle kicked off when Lance Storm ran into the ring and kicked Perry Saturn in the face. What a way to get things started. :rudy:

It also didn't help that The Rock was out during a bulk of that angle (due to filming The Scorpion King) as was HHH and Chris Benoit (injuries).
