I remember when they announced the new ECW, I just had this terrible feeling it was going to crash and burn. To it's credit, it lasted longer than I thought it would.
this shyt launched on my 16th birthday 
This is one of those times when they should've let Vince have his way and not name it ECW.
As bad as WWECW was it did had some bright spots: both Kofi Kingston and CM Punk debut on that brand, Miz and John Morrison developed their Hollywood personas on that brand, ECW Champion Big Show was a good heel, and it featured future Hall of Famer Braden Walker

Started off trying to restore the feeling, then died a horrible death.
The Good:
RVD
Shelton vs Kofi
Miz/Morrison development
Hardcore Holly endearing himself to the fans
Big Show as a heel
Evan Bourne, Monty Brown, and CM Punk debuts
Originals vs New Breed (not the one a time Wrestlemania)
The Bad:
Pretty much everything else. They did their best to treat homegrown ECW guys like trash, and even when they had a chance to elevate somebody, they made horrible decisions and still pulled the rug out from people. December To Dismember was the biggest crime. The crowd was molten hot for RVD and CM Punk, and they had them eliminated first, completely killing the crowd. Lashley vs Big Show were the final 2, and the crowd was NOT having it with Lashley having a come from nowhere win. They tried having this big Eddie at WM like celebration, and the crowd wasn’t buying it at all. This brand went from trying to restore the feeling to Sunday Night Heat 2005 in no time.
The Good:

I only watched it to see if they were gonna give Shelton the belt..that didnt work. Didnt care for Kofi. Lashley started to get over pretty big in 07. I remember him getting Bobby chants against RVD when everyone thought he was gonna get booed out.
Angle and RVD had a horrible match after RVD won the title. He missed that Van Damninator on Angle, Kurt sold it anyway..it looked horrible.
Elijah Burke was wasted big time.

Forgot Angle had some gems on there too, and Burke had a ton of potential and they nuked him
Kurt Angle was legit scary in ECW. Eyes glassy, frothing at the mouth during promos. Knowing just how messed up he was at the time makes that stuff hard to watch.
