God, wrestling fans are the worst. They've spent the last 4-5 years endlessly bytching about the WWE's family oriented, PG direction, but as soon as they run a risque angle (lawler heart attack) they immediately jump back to the "what a sleezy business...I had to turn my tv off" pearl clutching.

Lawler almost died from that heart attack, making light of that in a cheap heat manner makes WWE hypocritical in constant PR campaigns like B.A Star and Susan G. Comen Foundation stuff. Gives the media another chance to show how sleazy, low-brow entertainment wrestling is.

A babyface didnt come out and make cheap jokes for laughs at Lawler's expense. WWE's evil, main event heel made remarks that were recognized by everyone as cruel and over the top. One of the WWE's top babyfaces scolded him for those remarks to rounds of applause. What am I missing here? Thats wrestling 101, good vs. evil.

Of course its a real life situation, but Lawler signed off on it --- so where is all this moralizing coming from if the victim himself is cool with it?

I get all that, but even that instance it still does not reflect on WWE in the positive light seeing is how they have been desperate in trying to be family-friendly and not to look like low-bow form of entertainment like they constant criticized for being. If wasn't for that, I wouldn't be offended, but WWE has made the point that they are this "great" company that is trying to show how chartiable they are and that it no longer over the top sexual and violent product and that it's good clean fun.

Sounds like you have a personal ax to grind against the McMahons. Thats your issue. Im just talking about the angle in a vacuum. Its just hilarious to hear fans whine for years about how insulting the WWE's PG, kid friendly shows are --- then the minute they give us a hard hitting, adult-oriented angle, without skipping a beat those same fans jump right back to the "im so offended" moralization crap.

All attitude era stuff "had to go" because it was "used by the political opponents of Linda". Then, she loses the election and WWE draws up a segment that was a lot worse than most attitude stuff. I want the WWE to divert from PG and get that "TV-14/M" rating again, but not in this way. Give me blood, chairshots, table brakes, girls in skimpy outfits and on the edge storylines. Not a show where the only way to generate heat is to get the heel to "make fun" of a heart attack.
With this WWE-booking,I was surprised that Punk didn't get handed a script when they where in Canada, where the following would happen.

*Punk starts to bad mouth the crowd*
Canada is a horrible country with even worse people living here. All you do is boo me, but I am the world heavyweight champion, I am THE BEST IN THE WORLD.
Last time I checked, not a single Canadian has one a world heavyweight championship in a year. The wrestlers are the worst kind. They're either not main-event material, or not built to wrestle at all. I mean, look at it, whether they're getting career-ending:

they just don't last long, now do they.
And I KNOW why they don't last long as champions and take the easy way out. It is because they HATE being canadian. And they should.
