Was this during the Pony Express days, before they got the Death Penalty dropped on them? I wonder how much money he pocketed from boosters. (Also, Hacksaw was CUTE back in the day. I would have let him holler at the tailgate.)

hacksaw played for smu in mid-70's
i believe pony express was 79-83 era ??
the death penalty was 86 or 87 i believe
it was said smu had paid players going back to mid-70's
so...hacksaw might have been in on booster money (obviously i have no proof though)
but he wasn't contemporaries with dikkerson/james
