You said nothing of the sort "from the get go" and I wouldn't do any of that because there's no need to. The results speak for themselves.

I like Rock and on top of that its not even a knock on him (though Liggins may claim as much to make you )...any city with a decent amount of "smarks" can't help but support Punk.
