the cost of lives shows is even the reason they don't tape at MSG anymore and have adapted barclays as their home venue in NYC. renting the garden is crazy expensive and televising or broadcasting any event from there is astronomical.
That's because of Dolan

Meltzer told y’all from jump that WWE was doing good financially and they didn’t need to fire nobody.

Y’all called him crazy....now look :sas2:

it’s funny how this thread is only 2 pages long because the bootlickers aren’t in here..:sas1:

The cost saving due to no house shows and taping everything at the Performance Center can not be understated. That's a lot of money not spent on travel, renting arenas, personnel to build up the stage and ring, etc. Especially since they ran a show like every day.
They're doing Impact style tapings and it's working for them.

They mainly lucked into the deal from FOX as they were pivoting towards live sports after the sell to Disney, so they needed content. It was rather an overpay as WWE more than likely weren’t getting even close to the amount of money anywhere else.

With the rise of streaming platforms, they might be able to strike up another lucrative deal when its time renegotiations, but the continuous ratings drop isn’t doing them any favors.

It should be worrisome on their part even if they won’t admit it as they don’t have any global superstars or storylines to help increase ratings. Part of that is on them as they haven’t done a good job of creating stars, but The Rock, Stone Cold and even Cena were rare breeds of superstars that very rarely come around.
That last part is designed by Vince. Here we are years later and those Cena fans haven't stuck with the product.

It was a win/win for the WWE, because if they don't get the FOX deal then they would've just stayed on the USA network.:manny:

The only problem people had with the firings was the timing of it, but name someone outside of Rusev that they should've kept?

If they didn’t get the Fox deal, then they would have stayed on the USA Network at a much lower price.

They already had the billion dollar deal with RAW, so the lower price wouldn't have mattered as much. If anything USA would've probably just gave them the same offer that they had before.

Which would have still been at a lower rate than what they received from FOX. It would have mattered as much as it would have been less margin for error and less money coming in to help mask the problems that they have long term.

Even then, there’s no guarantee that USA would have given them the same offer.

Ain't this mostly down to the TV money?

That money is gonna keep their books looking nice for the next few years but they're steadily losing viewers every year, their audience is old as fukk, young people don't fukk with the product at all so whether they continue to get them bags from Fox and USA remains to be seen.

They probably will, at least from USA but if things don't change I think they've got problems in the long term.

I still think the promoting the "WWE" brand over their talent is going to be their downfall. The nostalgia acts aren't going to work forever.

Talk about stumbling into some information that u never woulda guessed in a million years. Like most people, I just thought about the loss ticket sales, merchandise, etc from putting on live shows. I didn’t take into account all of the WWE’s expenses from putting on live shows. I just assumed the revenue far exceeded all of that. I definitely wouldn’t have thought that they’d be more profitable without live shows.
