In Chris Jericho’s first book, he told the story of how his payday for the main event of the inVasion PPV, a 10 man tag, was bigger than his payday for main eventing Wrestlemania 18. Rhyno was in the same match Jericho was apart of that night, and has held a spot in every major wrestling company since the late 90’s. I’d figure if he’s turning down whatever they offered him and been in the game this long, he’s saved well and doesn’t need it. Kudos to him for that

It's clearly not about the money for him, though.
He wants to work meaningful matches with younger guys and develop new talent. It tracks with what he's been doing both in WWE and ROH for the last 7-plus years. If they're not going to pay him to do that, and he has money saved up and a side business for additional income, why take the WWE offer and not be able to do what you love for the next 5 years (and if he's smart, he'll be able to make a good chunk of that up on the indie circuit anyway)?
We may have taken the deal (and seemingly, at least one talent did take a $500,000 a year deal to do nothing for 5 years), but we're thinking differently than Rhyno is thinking.
I'm not going to hate on him for that.
