This might be true however I'd say that Dashing/Damaged Cody Rhodes did and Damien Sandow now does a pretty good job with 'in character' promos.

Definitely, they are the exception. It seems like the others can't generate any heat (ie: ooohs and awwws from the crowd) unless they're hitting home with personal insults. It will run thin.

Yup.
I always felt they were holding Cody back as a heel. Just the nonverbal cues he used in promo's were on point. I'll always root for him...still mad we never got Cody vs Golddust
