Wwe is in that late wcw era where the best stars on the roster are in the cruiserweight division

Old enough to remember when Eddie and Jericho were jobbers on wcw and Eddie wasn’t a main eventer until maybe 2003-4

Do your googles on some of these cruiser weights. They been around the world are were multiple time champions in there promotions.

Maybe not Barry Horowitz level of jobbing but they were definitely not anywhere near the main event in wcw. And eddie wasn’t considered a main eventer until the mid 2000’s

look man, instead of maybe taking a step back and thinking about your post again you choose to go on the defensive. if this many people are telling you NO, maybe it's you? you misspoke man.

you saying they weren't main eventers doesn't mean they were jobbers. do you know what a jobber is? Eddie Guerrero was NEVER a jobber in WCW during the nitro era. he was a challenger for the damn US title almost immediately after he got there. hell he WON the US title BEFORE he ever was the cruiserweight champion. he wasn't looked at as just a cruiserweight. he feuded with flair, savage, ddp, etc.

jericho also wasn't a jobber. again, not being in the main event doesn't mean you're a jobber. they were both mid to high midcard guys. far from jobbers. and they were also far from being the "best stars" either. Hogan, Flair, Sting, Hall, Nash, DDP, Goldberg, Luger were big stars.

now the crusierweights may have been the better in ring wrestlers, but they were not the best stars. period.

Every time I watch it there’s at least one fire match. Problem is the crowd doesn’t react much because they’re conditioned to see the CWs as nobodies.

Now this I agree with. I’ve been hearing how good it’s been for awhile and finally started giving it a shot and there have really been some standout matches. Seems like ever since Rockstar Spud became GM, new life has been pumped into 205 Live. Been a very focused show. Just sucks the time slot is terrible

they've gone about marketing the division completely wrong. putting them on their own show makes it feel like their the minor leagues. they should be on Raw and Smackdown.

also, and I've said this before, part of what made the wcw cruiserweight division such a standout during that time was what they were doing was completely different from what the main event guys were doing. what yo got in a juvy vs kidman match was gonna look totally different from luger and sting vs hall and nash. now tho everyone in the main event does some type of dive to the outside. it might sound crazy but imo, it hurts the product to give PPV quality matches EVERY monday, multiple times. now the cruiserweights just come off as smaller versions of seth rollins and finn balor.

There's no chance of Noam Dar or any of the guys that you mentioned being anywhere close to the next Jericho or Guerrero. :comeon: However 205 Live has been a great show over the last few months and deserves more recognition. Putting the show at 7pm Tuesday live on The Network would help.

That's a good suggestion. I wonder if people would just come later and still skip 205 Live.

When I went to SD back in December there was clear exodus after SD ended, got to move up about 10 rows. I think they need to give the cruisers 1 or 2 segments back on RAW again because people don't even know the new guys.

WCW really perfected this. WWE's idea doesn't work for most of the reasons @Alexander The Great said, as far as the CWs not being all that different from today's heavyweights/main eventers. And to add, they simply don't make them important. As 205 Live stands right now, the show is very good, but they damaged them when they first brought the CW division back by having them be stand alone guys on Raw. They featured them, and that was it. They didn't even have them interacting with the rest of the roster, as if they were from Saturn or something. No reason why Cedric, TJP, Neese, and several other could have been teaming with various Raw (and Smackdown) people. The WWE basically said "HEEEEEYYYY LOOK WE'RE BRINGING THE CWs BACK! HERE THEY HERE!!! So anyway..."

Not at all... especially the ones you named. Noam Dar and Tony Nese ain't even that dope on that roster, how would dudes like them ever do what Jericho, Benoit, Eddie, or Rey did and break out into the main roster? They're probably comfortable on 205, it's cool that they've got a place to be, but they ain't even standouts.

If Vince decided to dismantle 205 tomorrow, some of them dudes you mentioned wouldn't even get brought up to any roster, including NXT.

Their best stars could be in the Cruiserweight division, i.e. they meet the weight requirements or could easily cut down to 205 like Buddy Murphy.

Adam Cole Ricochet Tyler Bates Pete Dunne Daniel Bryan Johnny Gargano Ciampa Finn Balor Sami Zayn Andrade Almas Xavier Woods AJ Styles on and on

This is why I've said, they should elevate the Cruiserweight Title to being thee men's title on Smackdown.

Move the WWE and US title to RAW. Move RAWs women and tag teams to Smackdown.

Then given this huge surplus of CW talent rotate guys in and out to keep things fresh.

RAW would then have more titles instead of having guys like Elias doing absolutely nothing.

It's the brand split, they have the wrong brand split.

I could be wrong, but has Elias wrestled more than 5-6 total matches in the last 4-5 months? It seems like all he’s doing is his usual songs in the ring to get heat with no real sense of direction at all.

Anyone of them could be the next Jericho Benoit or Eddie
how can you make this thread and use THESE guys as the examples when Ciampa and Gargano have cranked out the best feud currently in wrestling. :laff:But you starting the thread with Tony Neese. :skip:
