I guess it was ok for WWE to have stereotypes of Blacks, Latinos and Asians on there but a stereotype of the Tea Party...
Yea at first I was thinking WWE is wrong for doing this....then I started to remember all the stereotypes WWF had in the past
yeah, I'm wondering why they even thought it was offensive. I figured they probably would've supported it. Maybe they looked in the mirror and realized how crazy they appear to everyone else
They're mad because the tea party characters are being portrayed as villans, while the Hispanic wrestler they're targeting is a fan favorite. TP's carry delusions about virtually everything, the least of which is their standing in the public consciousness. The tea party hovers around 25%-30% favorability across polling agencies, yet these a$$holes still think they're Americas freedom fighters, and are rock star popular. This is yet another cold hard slap of reality --- from the WWE of all places, a decidedly conservative organization.

I haven't watched it in about 11 years, but I followed it religiously for a long time.
To be fair, one can say the same about most hip-hop nowadays which is just as juvenile.
I don't understand the appeal of it now, but hey @TrueEpic08 is heavy into it and he's a damn genius.

But his character was an exaggerated extreme stereotype of a conservative as the bad guy. I don't watch WWE anymore but it doesn't seem like this new character is any worse.

I stopped watching wrestling in 5th or 6th grade, but every now and then I look up old clips for fun. That shyt is still hilarious on a number of levels. I think the mid-90s was probably when it started slipping from the peak of over the top, completely cartoonish characters, though, which is really what made it worth watching. More "realistic" characters actually make it much worse.
