Her gimmick is someone who's practically a retard. Just like a lifelong wrestling fan who never grew up and is stuck in teenage years. That's the kind of thing that would get over with the small NXT crowd made up of people who are exactly the same as her, but it will never get over with the masses. It looks corny as hell and she's trash on the mic.

Pretty much don't have her trying to cut 10 minute promos or trying to be funny because wwe comedie is trash 99.9% of the time

50/50. I think if you get over in front of one audience, in theory you should be able to get over in front of the other. Some characters need more help getting over in front of larger audiences, but that's where booking and presentation is supposed to help. Bayley seems largely nervous on the main roster given her blah matches and bad promos, but at the same time if she sucks at promos, why let her die out there on the mic? I think with her it's a combination of them not knowing what to do with her and her being not comfortable on a bigger stage.

It's almost like WWE is pushing this narrative that its 'cooler' to just be a heel.

Babyfaces are booked like shyt, talk like shyt, and more often than not have generally worse gimmicks (or hardly any at all) than the heels at large. Tell me: would you rather be Miz with fine ass Maryse by your side - or Dean Ambrose? A MONSTER AMONG MEN - or a lookalike uber driver?

It also doesn't help that feuds can be one-sided like Alexa/Bayley for example.

I can't blame the talent because in NXT they have great matches and storylines that make sense, but once they get to the main roster they turn them into characters in a 2nd rate snl skit. The WWE forcing wrestlers to cut long winded go nowhere promos every week doesn't do them any favors either.

What bothers me is how overrated Bayley is. She's not nearly as good as the 'beards make her out to be

I admit I was fooled by her NXT performances. I thought she was amazing in every match I saw from her when she was given the green light push. Now the few times I watch her on the main roster is like watching a completely different performer. She was probably just a product of great agent and time to work on matches before the tapings
