They'll fall back and let him work naturally without talking. Then push him harder in smark cities like NY/NJ, Boston, London etc. I'd like to see what he and Orton could do. That would be a good feud. Orton gets a lot of heat/pop from the ladies and fandango gets the smarks.

The fact this is real :snoop:

Why cant they just fall back and let things happen :mindblown:

This is why WCW was killing them in the 90's. They fell back and waited for people to HATE Hogan, literally spit on him, before they introduced a hero character (return of Sting in 98).

They let Goldberg get 100-0, from jobbers to the top of the card. Remember when it was a real question if Bill would go over Raven? And when he did lose for the first time it wasn't clean.

I hate to be a purist, but WCW writers "'got it" a lot more than whoever the hell is writing WWE these days.

I think the whole Fandango craze got overblown at last week's Raw after Wrestlemania. The whole point of the crowd chanting Fandango's song was all based on the energy that night and people were simply just buggin out. His interview spot lastnight was horrendous, there was no crowd pop, and nobody really seemed the care. WWE's current writers could possibly write for the Disney Channel. They need some fresh blood in there who are actual Wrestling fans (not of recent time) and add some controversy, better story lines, and how about a little f*ckin blood for once??? :mindblown:

you're just overanalyzing...the crowd sucked and wasnt responding to much last night. You'd have a point if the crowd was hot, and just got quiet for fandango specifically.

And perhaps most importantly, this is what happens when you try to establish and get over a new character --- there are growing pains associated with it, because not everybody is following the show week to week, and even knows who he is. Fans will always respond to established stars, but truly getting over a new guy takes time.

Im not making a literal comparison, but do you think Stone cold, Rock, etc became stars over night? There were nights that they bombed while in the midst of their rise.

Smarks love to talk big about establishing new guys, but they dont want issues that go along with it.

online wrestling fans are the most annoying people ever. You complain about everything. I swear, if WWE wasnt giving fandango shine and attention, you guys would be like: "wwe was handed a future star, and they couldnt even capitalize on it. why is HHH burying fandango!! They couldnt give fandango an interview segment, but they continue to shove cena down our throats!!!!!!!"

Like others have said, the failure last night was not about WWE trying to capitalize on Fandango sing-along. The failure was WWE sending Lawler and Fandango out to practically beg for the same reaction that emerged naturally during post WM raw. This is akin to Vince making JR and Austin go in the middle of the ring in 1997 and talk about the 3:16 craze and having Austin ask the audience to chant 3:16 along with him. A stunt like that would have completely stifled Austin's progression as a character. WWE should have just given Fandango the mic time at the beginning of 2nd hour; nothing more, nothing less. Let him create a rapport with the audience. There was no need for Lawler to put faux pressure on the audience into doing the sing-along.

Nobody is complaining just stating a fact. That shyt last night was unnecessary after a few weeks or months if it caught on, then acknowledge it and if not let it die. They had Lawler and FandanGAWD out there basically down on there knees pleading for the crowd to react like last weeks crowd. What happened last week was an anomaly.

All the WWE should've done is create a space, an opportunity for it. Pushing it was a mistake.

Beaches and Palm Trees
Johnny Curtis with his current Gimmick will never become a World Champ.

That sort of gimmick if golden for mid-card excellence but no way in hell is he sniffing a main event with a dancing gimmick.

Disagree!

His character can evolve away from the gimmicky stuff as long as he maintains his swagger

This is a perfect example of why WWE shouldn't cater to these random smark crowds.

 What the? That has nothing to do with catering to smark crowds! They were simply embarrassing themselves by fukking begging for the Fandangoing to pick.

Actually I read from someone who's been there that the crowd was well fandangoing before they put Lawler in the ring because they then realized Fandango wasn't going to wrestle.
