WWE Draft to be held at Backlash PPV

Exclusive: WWE Considering Holding Next Draft At PPV Post-Mania

As has been reported in the last few hours, WWE recently sent out an e-mail announcing that the upcoming Backlash PPV will feature both RAW and Smackdown Live Superstars.

Twitter account @WrestleVotes then went on to report that all WWE PPVs will be duel branded following WrestleMania in order to spice up the cards.

From what WrestleZone has been told the idea for the WWE Draft returning at Backlash would be to use it as a way for WWE to jumpstart the all duel brand PPV format going forward.


As is the case with everything with WWE nothing is set in stone until it happens. The idea of holding the WWE Draft at Backlash is certainly being discussed and would seem to make sense.

It's almost as if Vince legit got mad that Smackdown was by far the better show than Raw for like the first 9-12 months after the brand split. He shut that shyt down by destroying the Smackdown roster after WM 33. As a result Smackdown is still a solid show, but nowhere near as hot as it once was. Hopefully they do a better job of balancing the star power this go round.

Think about the people Smackdown lost.... Undertaker, Cena, Miz/Maryse, Alexa Bliss, Bray Wyatt

Now compare that to who Raw lost... Kevin Owens, Charlotte, and New Day

Smackdown declined in quality because of the terrible writing. The show managed to get James Ellsworth along with the team of Rhyno and Heath Slater over due to a better creative team.

I just don’t get Vince man. I just don’t understand why u decide to do a brand extension and then get mad when the other show is doing better. So instead of making better storylines and pushing other superstars. You purposely sabotage the other show just to make the main show better. Like does Vinny Mac understand that he gets paid either way?

Maybe SmackDown will get a better roster from all this, and Talking Smack will make a surprise return on top of it.
