Why does this year Wrestlemania feel like somebody drew up a card and that’s what’s going to happen. There’s no real build to any of it. The only matches that feel like Wrestlemania is Brock v Roman, Bianca v Becky. Everything else feels like it was wrote down on a napkin and the wrestlers go out there an announce we’re fighting at Wrestlemania.
If they really had patience they would have saved Becky's return for the Royal Rumble and had super babyface champ Bianca Belair vs the returning champ Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania then did the heel turn. RK Bro vs, Seth and KO been there they just now getting around to kicking it off.I think almost every WrestleMania in the last decade or so has had this problem. But since 2016, it's gotten worse. Most of the card isn't even finalized until March or so, and the big matches only get a few weeks of buildup.
When I was younger, it felt like at least two or three matches were locked in after the Royal Rumble. But now, like you said, they just decide they're going to do a match and make that match happen with the limited time they have. WrestleMania feuds used to feel like they were important, like there was actual time invested into them. Now, they're no different from any other show.
Imagine current WWE having the patience to build up a WrestleMania match over the course of a year, and make it highly anticipated so when it happens, people still want to see it.
They literally referenced this on Raw. The seeds are set. I still think it's a swerve to get Theory vs McAfee at WM.
It's because it's the WWE. If he were doing this with AEW then people would be quicker to dismiss him. As long as he continues to publish negative rumors about the WWE, the smarks will continue to support him. It's definitely Theory/McAfee... Dave wrong again. I don't know how many times he has to be wrong about shyt before it stops being a thing that the internet just dives headfirst into.
Y'all in here acting like this whole thing is some shyt Dave pulled completely out his ass when in reality the podcast DID happen and Pat McAfee IS having a match as a direct result of the podcast. The only he got wrong was that the match is against Vince himself. And even then I don't think anything has happened yet to 100% rule him out.
Meltzer has been taking Ls left and right when it comes to reporting WWE stuff, and that's because as Russo said Vince loves working the dirtsheets. What has he broken that regular fans didn't already guess? I saw comments from plenty of fans saying they expected Rousey to return at the Rumble before Dave said anything. Defending double talk Dave is an automatic LY'all in here acting like this whole thing is some shyt Dave pulled completely out his ass when in reality the podcast DID happen and Pat McAfee IS having a match as a direct result of the podcast. Great job. Meltz.
Look, I know y'all gotta Stand Up For WWE but you're really gonna sit here tell me that the fans could have just guessed out of thin air that there was gonna be a podcast with Vince AND that it was gonna lead directly to a match? Right.Seriously that interview was the greatest interview in recent history, mainly because it caused the IWC to go into defense mode ever since. Looking at the Smackdown review on Fightful and the neckbeard and female smark shyt on everything and act like Rampage was Wrestlemania X7 was hilarious.
