Meltzer clearly is biased...so him being the first to report got me :patrice:. Bcuz he could be making all this up only for NJPW to work with aew fulltime so he can be like... they picked khan instead of vince:krs:.

But alvarez reaction on TK khan corny ass promo is :lupe:

Meltzer reporting it just means whoever is his source is trying to gain leverage. Whether is true or false doesn't matter to neither Meltzer or his source. The former gets a big story to sell and the other one tries to make someone nervous and take advantage of it.

Been working for Vince. For better or worse.

It worked for 3 years during the Attitude Era, then it ended up pretty badly. WWE leaning on "evil authority" for every single important angle they've had in the last 2 decades has cost them more than given them good results. And Vince-WWE is an exception because they were able to rig the system to the point they stopped depending on the quality of their product to make big money. shyt, the "genius" of Cokeboy in the last 12 years was realizing he could make billions by taking care of anything BUT the on screen product.

All true except they didnt really rig anything. All Vince had to do was play the elite brand angle long enough for fans to believe they were elite for supporting it. Fans stick around regardless of how crap the product is and it gives shareholders belief that what they do works. It raises the value and then networks and advertisers come around. The ironic thing is i cant tell if Cokeboy is actually this smart or people/businesses are actually this dumb

I would love to see all companies have a working relationship and once every year or maybe 2 have a supercard where all companies come together for 1 show or weekend set of shows and do like a charity event or something like that. Lots of possible great matches and would be interesting to see. Hopefully this partnership leads to that as well as many other great things. No need for all this stan war foolishness over this rumored partnership. Just enjoy the wrestling and hopefully seeing unique matchups we never thought were possible. All this getting excited to see AEW fans suffering cuz WWE may get a partnership with NJPW is childish. All 3 companies have great talent that can contribute decent matches if they were working together. I enjoy watching wrestlers from all 3 of those companies as well as Impact. Partnerships like this are exciting for fans and great for the wrestling business.

Tribal Chief or Drip God going after the NJPW United States champion Jon Moxley? :lolbron:

I can just picture Vince in gorilla on a random show.

Vince: The hell is Jon Moxley doing here!? Call security.

Random Stooge: Sir, he's here to wrestle.

V: On my show? Hell no. We signed a partnership with NJPW not AEW.

RS: He's the defending NJPW US champion.

V: Damn it! I should research these partnerships before I agree to them. See if he has any coke available or he can't compete.

This year NJPW had to deal with Covid outbreaks, canceled shows, and now their champion vacating his title due to injury. They are vulnerable.

WWE is making so much money, they can throw a few million for an exclusive deal if they really wanted to. It also keeps Daniel Bryan out of AEW and gives Moxley less incentive to re-sign with AEW if he can't work in NJPW.

A WWE x NJPW partnership really screws with AEW. So many AEW guys openly talk about wanting to work in NJPW. That's why Tony Kahn came out with that promo letting everyone know he's still working with NJPW (for now). It's partially damage control and also trying to get everyone talking about AEW again since this rumor has taken a lot of attention away from Double or Nothing weekend.
