For me Showcase mode was alright and really just highlighted how bad they fukked up the booking during that time period for Cena/Punk. Michaels and HHH was cool even though as expected they ignored the WM triple threat main event.
After the first year and a half mycareer picked up steam as I started getting storylines a little more often. Overall though it's an endless grind with no real payoff. I fukked up and actually chose the Heavyweight championship after winning the Rumble. After winning it at Mania that was the end of the mode minus 4 matches and a career ending match after. Definitely a disappointment overall that was not worth spending all those hours on.
Gameplay wise I love the game. I think a change is needed with the kick out meter cause it prevents more epic matches from occurring. On default difficulty the game was far too easy and I took like two legit losses during mycareer total. I did the showcase mode on Legendary difficulty or whatever the highest is and that shyt is nonstop reverses and you have to be on your game to win those matches. I was winning at about a 50% clip on that difficulty.
I haven't touched Universe mode yet.
Online is absolutely horrible. There's like a 1-2 second input delay, so rather than reversing when you see an animation kicking off you have to guess a second or two early. There were times where I would hit the reverse button before hitting the ground in order to properly time someone hitting me on teh ground. It's damn near impossible to kick out of pins online. It's bad enough offline but once you get online you literally get one chance to kick out before the three count. And you basically have to hold and let go of the button even before the meter actually appears on screen to kick out.
