Fluid is good, noticed it from the videos. But is it fun?

That's all I really need to go through the story modes.

The Attitude era mode is pretty fun. It starts off with a general video introducing the Attitude Era (just based on the narration, you can tell they still got no love for WCW).

What I like about the mode is each match has a checklist of things you have to do to win the match and another checklist with optional activities. Completing these activities help you unlock characters, arenas etc.

The mode is pretty sick, they have a lot of little cut scenes. For instance when Mankind becomes Cactus Jack on Raw, they have a in-game cut scene for that.

As for selling I find its pretty much the same as last year. That being said, in last years game I tweaked the in game slider for more realistic matches. So I'm not too bothered as I feel when I tweak the settings the selling will improve.

There are a few little changes that I've enjoyed. For reversals an indicator pops up now telling you if your too early or too late. The arenas seem bigger this year for some events.

There are a few little things that could have been changed. Bret wears his title on top of his jacket instead of under. Mankind's manible claw is not a submission finisher. They could have also had his exit theme for his original 96 attire character. Also, at this point I don't get why the weapon wheel still isn't used for every match. It should be the only way to choose weapons.

I'm having some good matches on Legendary. If you could play last years game on legendary you'll have no problems with this years.

From my first impressions, If you had last years game and enjoyed it, definitely worth a cop. It's pretty much an updated roster, more moves, more fluid gameplay, and a much more versatile create mode. If you enjoyed WWF from 97-99 and want to relive some of those moments, definitely worth checking out. With the CAWS you should be able to have a pretty tight roster of WWF guys from that era.

That being said, haven't messed with online yet. I gotta renew my live, so i'll probably check that out tomorrow. Can't wait to use Rikishi.

Any other questions let me know.

No problem guys. Really the game is pretty similars to last years. They just made the game much smoother, added more moves etc.

Without the Attitude Era mode or wrestlers, it would just have been an updated verison. But with this mode I feel it adds much more depth to the game. I feel this game is what Legends of Wrestlemania should have been, a throwback game with the Smackdown engine.

Some more things that I liked:

The mid air catches are pretty dope. I was playing as HBK vs Taker at Bad Blood and Taker caught HBK (me) when I was trying to do a diving move from the apron.

The replays have a much more solid feel to them.

I didn't like that the HIAC match with Taker/HBK starts mid match. But the Kane cutscene is :ohlawd:.

I tried to go online but it wouldn't let me. I read on the THQ forums there doing server testing.

As for gameplay, the movesets need some tweaking. But that and the in game slider settings are customizable so :yeshrug:.

Tyson looks a bit better in the game. I still think his face is off.

This game is definitely a step in the right direction. It's not going to replace No Mercy, Fire Pro or Here Comes the Pain. But it's still enjoyable for a current WWE game. Not perfect, but enjoyable.

Hey do the sliders have a significant effect on how long u stay down after a decent amount of damage?

Yeah. Last year with the sliders I had wrestlers would take a lot more moves to get a stored finisher. The finishers also had a bigger effect.

The best advice I can give you is if you have WWE 12 tweak the sliders using tips from:

FireProClub.com • View topic - WWE '12 Slider Thread

FireProClub.com • View topic - TheDenizen's WWE '12 tweaks for sims

See if you find it enjoyable with tweaking the sliders. If you do then you'll probably enjoy WWE 13. I have left my sliders stock so far but will probably tweak them down the week.

A few more criticisms:

I don't know why the Fink doesn't do the announcing in the "Attitude Era" mode. Also some matches can be real easy (but i'm playing on Normal). The DX mode has 11 matches, Austin has 7 and I think the Brothers of Destruction has 17.

Haven't unlocked it yet. You have a match where your Shamrock and you face Rock in the KOTR finals. That's all I've really seen of Rock so far.

THQ dropped the ball on selling. It's getting bad in the story mode. For example when you do the match with Taker and Mankind in the cell, after he takes the bump from the top of the cell to the ring, he stays down for a bit. But when he get up he isn't holding his ribs or anything :why:.

You would have to tweak the settings it seems for it to be more realistic. Its seem pretty similar to last years in terms of selling :shaq2:.

Man soo basically they made no changes to my biggest gripe with wwe 12 and that was opponents not staying down long after a large amount of damage.

WHich means MITB matches will still be near impossible to finish, and even triple threat matches will prolly take more than 30 minutes to finish

Man fck THQ

What they changed was really:
Bigger roster
More moves
More arenas
More options in CAW/CAA
Tweaked gameplay to make it more fluid
Added more options + stories to Universe mode.

They fukked up on the selling. The AI at times can also be improved. Tweaking the sliders can change this but it won't become No Mercy or Fire Pro.

I would say the game is an update if it wasn't for the attitude era mode. To me that mode gives the game more depth. It also opens up more possibilities in Universe mode.

So wait it out if you were looking forward to a game with a much more revamped engine and selling. It'll probably be cheap around Christmas or Black Friday. If you can cop this for 30 at that point, definite win.

Btw, what difficulty did you play it on last year? I've never had problems with winning MITB matches or Tripple Threat but I've been playing these games forever lol.

Well I usually would play those modes with people, 2 other people and add some AI's, And seein as how u can get up in 5 seconds no matter the amount of damage inflicted, lets just say...it'd take more than a miracle to even touch the briefcase in the first 15 minutes of the match. :scusthov:

Yeah. Ok I get ya. With facing just the computer it's a lot easier.

But yeah, if you didn't enjoy last years may want to wait it out. It's definitely in the same lane as last years game, just with the improvements listed. No big gameplay overhauls other than making it smoother. Have you ever played Fire Pro? Might want to check that out, definitely worth it for 10 bucks.
