Wade, 34, is also a free agent for the second straight summer. He said Monday that he doesn't expect negotiations with the Heat to be as tenuous as they were last summer before the sides came together on a one-year, $20 million contract.

Wade is coming off his healthiest season since 2010, having played in 74 games and averaged 19 points, 4.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds during the regular season. His production was even higher in the playoffs, when Wade averaged 21.4 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists through 14 games.

"He had the best season he's had since prior to the Big 3," Riley said, referring to the season before James and Bosh joined Wade in Miami for the 2010-11 season. "Compensation to a player is not just a way to get paid and live your life. Compensation to a player is about recognition and respect and place.

"We know where he belongs. The day we give him his contract, then I'll go to him to cash my check."

Heat goals: Healthy Bosh; keep Wade, Whiteside

Wade is getting taken care of at the end of the day so what's the problem? This was always the play..They had to know what was going on with KD first before they had actuals to offer Wade.

The Miami Heat have offered Dwyane Wade a two-year, $40 million contract, according to league sources.

Reports that the Heat offered Wade only a $10 million offer for next season have been overblown, sources said, with the sides actually being $10 million apart on the total amount of a contract.

According to sources, Wade's current offer from the Heat was always part of a contingency for both sides to consider within the parameters of a deal based on Miami's other free-agency efforts to re-sign center Hassan Whiteside and pursue Kevin Durant. The Heat agreed to a four-year, $98 million deal with Whiteside on the opening day of free-agency recruiting Friday, and Durantagreed to a two-year, $54 million deal to leave Oklahoma City for Golden State on Monday.

sounds much more like reality dont it

Fellas, even though we have lost some key pieces from our last squad, I still believed that we still have a very good core that can carry the team into a sucessful season. Health is the key. Hopefully, Bosh can recover from his blood clot. At this time, I am being very optimistic that Hassan will improve his post moves and Josh's continue to thrive as a shooting guard. Then, we have Justice. If he form into a decent shooter, we'll have another solid all-round player like Wade.

I'm glad that Wade is going to stick around for two more years. He has shown that he can be a decent 3 point shooter when he makes an effort to shoot from the three-point line. Wade was very comfortable shooting from that distance. I expect to see him to stop being scare and shoot from that range more often.

Dragic has all the skillls of an elite pg; he just needs a heart and mental toughness. He still owed us an 18 million dollars production.:francis:
