That could be true but Riley really isn't wasting his time if he's trying to set us up for Durant next offseason.

.
If Durant is going to leave it will be this summer. too many teams he's interested in wont have the cap next year because they'll be forced sign their own guys + other players in case he re-ups in okc.

Durant is being smart seeing what else is out there but it's going to take a lot to pry him from OKC. They were a top three team last season and Durant clearly wants to put himself in position to win a title. The Spurs, OKC, and Golden State put him in the best position to do that. As far as we go we have one major thing working against us and that's the uncertainty around our best player. 1. We don't know if Bosh will play again and 2. Durant doesn't seem to like him much.
if duran't already staying aint no set up for next season....why meet with 6 teams if u not gonna leave u just wasting ppl's time.......or he might just wanted to be one of those guys who experienced a pat riley meeting im sure he's heard many stories :troll:

Bosh/Horford front court :sadcam: it's sounding more and more like that's their target
If he wants less than the max.. :manny:

It's pretty clear the Heat don't want to give Hassan the max so Horford at $16-18 mil would be the next best option. They could use that extra $7ish mil somewhere else.

:scust: That's as treadmill status as can be
Money aside I can halfway understand the logic behind why they might prefer Horford. More range and skilled offensively, good team defender, but nowhere near the rim deterrent or post presence of Whiteside.

If its about money I would rather max the 27 year old who you can still trade in a couple of years if things go south and get a decent return. I was listening to Le Batard this morning and he insinuated that Horford wants to come to Miami and has expressed a willingness to recruit Durant, so that may explain it

Not if he turns into Bynum 2.0 after getting his money and we see him sitting in the crowd at the 2018 Finals looking like this

Horford's max starts at 26 mil/yr, there is no way he is taking a 8-10 million dollar discount.
Maybe but he made $12 mil this year so it would still be a raise and maybe being able to play in a hispanic market would make it worth it to him.
