I agree with this and it's weird. That wu symbol is like the Mcdonalds symbol everyone knows it. But as dope as protect ya neck and gravel pit are. I feel (I could be wrong) that more people know Playas ball and Ms. Jackson.

Outkast easy, even with solos included. nikkas let their personal preferences cloud their judgement. Wu Tang is regional, they shyt ain't popping like that outside a few songs.

All that tells me is nikkas on the west coast or in the south need to study the game some more cause 36 Chambers, Liquid Swords and Cuban Linx are all time classics
Jay beats nas purely on quantity not quality. Illmatic is better than anything Jay ever released. It's better than anything that's ever came from the west coast/south too
I can't speak for worldwide but here in the UK Outkast are more known than Wu are thanks to shyt like Hey Ya and Roses. Those got regular play time, Hey Ya is still on the radio regularly

I think this sentiment that a few others expressed is ignoring how big Wu's influence is. Wu were probably the biggest inspiration on the whole underground hip hop movement in the late 90s right up to this day.
OutKast had a big influence too but it's tough to name artists that copied them compared to Wu who have a million copycats.
