At the end of the day Deck is the one that got the raw deal out of all the Wu members. He always came with heat on all them albums and for him not to get an album during that reign must fukking suck. I was listening to Forver a couple of days ago. The only song I didn't really fukk with was that Black Shampoo track. I dunno wtf they were thinking on that one.

I liked that GZA was able to get everyone on his album.

Forever has aged nicely. I remember being fairly disappointed when I first heard it bc expectations were instant classic, but the sound was different. But when I play it now it’s a really dope album. Everyone was at their lyrical peaks too.

Black shampoo is really the only true skip, but there are 2-3 other tracks I don’t love

They may have kinda flubbed the finale brehs :francis:
The last episode was crammed lol

This season needed more episodes. Way way more. Maybe even do another season just on the making of Wu Forever

I would argue it needed another season to tell the story. Its fine if you wanna end at Wu Forever but this season was literally 4 years crammed in 10 episodes. You could have honestly told their story up to ODB's passing and reuniting in the mid 00s to tour. The concept episodes for ODB, GZA and Rae were cool but you could have shown the process of how they made the albums. There was still some good episodes like what Deck, Killa and God had to go through waiting. But they skipped too much this year

Must have had some funding issue or Hulu/Disney didnt show love cause this needed more episodes and season. Kinda mad people slept on this show. Once Disney Plus had it overseas they should have marketed it cause the international audience would have been interested

Bottom line I salute Rza for even getting this show out and it was mostly good but the last season was definetly crammed/rushed cause they were only given one season. Disney/Hulu should have seen the vision and given more love

I know it has to finish with this episode, but even with it's flaws - I'm definitely gonna miss this show.

If you'd told 14 year old me that the cats I happened to see on the request channel, with the crazy video that looked like it was shot on a camcorder when I was on holiday in NY last summer, would have their own TV show - I would have been :mindblown: :mindblown: :mindblown:

The 'Protect Ya Neck' episode is still my favourite single episode I've seen of a show in a minute
If they're handing out spin-off's though - Rae and Ghost United, please :feedme:

WZA remains one of the worst casting decisions in human history. I'll never get over the fact RZA hand picked him.

:snoop:

The finale was rushed just like the whole season. I will say dude that played Divine has a future and can become a great actor.
Dave East needs to go back to whatever he was doing before this. Atrocious garbage every time he was on screen.
Divine, Power, ODB, and Rae were the stand out characters and portrayed faithful to their persona. Everyone else was meh.

This series could have been so much more but I think Hulu/Disney suits saw the wack ass acting and said yeah we're done here
I want to see the movie Rae has in mind. It can't be worse than this rush job with student actors.
I did learn one thing and one thing only from this: Deck produced Let Me At 'Em, and made it a banger.

Dave East was so bad, feel like that casting decision was the worst of them all, considering Meth is the most popular member of the clan. I feel like they wanted to make more scenes centered around meth but couldn't because of how bad Dave East was. I like how they recasted Deck but they should have done the same with meth.

The kid playing Rae knocked it out the park, fat suit and all.

as i said in the post above this... this was filmed during COVID...

we basically lost a year of production....

I believe the rush was a compromise as I think it was 5 seasons originally planned... But the show was always planned to end at Forever

Lot of thoughts as a big wu fan who knows all the Killa Bee stuff too.

I like the finale overall, the concept episodes were boring to me and a waste of the little screen time they had to use.

Actors for Rae, Divine and GZA were great to me.

Would have liked to see
- Gravediggaz side project
- Mentioning Math/4th Disicple starting to add to the beats.
- Rae and Ghost meeting Mobb/Nas and dust era :blessed:
- no mention of the LA wu mansion from mtv cribs?
- Maybe some talk about the LA/NY beef (Meth being on AEOM)

Props to RZA for once again actually pulling off what seemed Impossible. I always come here after and learn something from the knowledge of the posters. :ohhh:

As much as I love this show it's still a little too sanitized. After hearing all those stories about many of them being on dust, all the ODB craziness I would've loved to see more of that in the show. Or all the fights. I want to see all the grime. My worry of a Bad Boy show would be Puff cleaning shyt up too much and not showing how he really was.

Saw an interview with Divine and he said it was done purposely. They wanted the show to radiate hope at the end of the day. So they left off some of the more somber/grimier stories like hard drugs, infidelities etc.

Ending it at Wu-Tang Forever was perfect since most went their separate ways after that album.

That's that bullshyt. Wouldn't it radiate more hope by showing how low the group went and how they managed to bounce back and get their lives together.. He should just say they didn't want to put all their business out there like that.

They did the Ghostface diabetes story really good. In real life ghost lost weight rapidly and thought he caught the house in Virginia, they played it really well on the show without directly suggesting that.

But honestly you can't fully sanitize a story like this. We needed more about Dirty and his battle with addiction, Ghost being wild(imagine if they had him saying fukk hot97 at summerjam on there and how that affected their radio spins), the constant fights over money, how they used to bully meth... It's such a great story but very difficult to tell. The show did it's thing.
