How did ya'll rate this nearly 5 years on?

If you take it out of context and ignore other Wu albums it's a very dope album, RZA evolved his sound for the better but got shytted on not only by fans but certain member of his own group. I don't blame him for making movies with Tarantino while Deck is making dubstep albums.

It's comfortably the 3rd best Wu album for me.

campfire was a sick joint..cappa and ugod really went in.
the album on the whole was cool..

I really like the production itself, but the album had too many weak hooks, bad sequencing & most the emcees sounding like they didn't want to be there.

You take a cut like Guitar gently Weeps & I'm feeling the instrumental more than the regular version b/c Ghost is the only one who showed up on the track (Rae sounds asleep & Meth raps as Cheese) and Badu is god awful

or how do you have Wolves & Gun Will Go back to back when each one is lead MC/hook/Meth/hook/Masta over a beat switch/hook?

but that said, fukking love the beats for Gun Will Go, Campfire, Windmill, etc... only bad beat is Starter...you just can't enjoy the beats much because they're littered w/ bad hooks & alot of verses sounding half-assed

I always wanted to hear what RZA's original version of this album would have sounded like:



both of those had Rae on first takes, early version of Wolves, etc...

it sounds like we got a rushed jumbled clusterfukk album instead of what could have been

yeah the album didn't have that punch to it..

one album that could have been much better was the W..man the production was ill but something was missing..and the intended OG shaolin finger jab was made into its intro..Grrr!!

U-god Mef and Ghost all killed every track they was on.

Its funny that Rae dissed it because truthfully he was the one who I thought actually sounded the worst on the album (although he came back dope on OB4CL2), everyone else sounded pretty good, and the production was dope, just a bit messy. It didn't sound that cohesive, but it wasn't bad.

It was better than Iron Flag and on par with The W. A good album but not great, and unfortunately anything less than great is not good enough from Wu.

next year is the wu year..20th anniversary of 26 chambers.
they should do something Huge!! This is the time to sit down and get down to business..
the rza needs to commit to himself as the rza-rector and the other heads need to drop their egos and do something huge for a wu tang album!!
