I have no dog in this fight but two things can be true at the same time, she can be getting heel heat but she also has some go away heat with that which has basically accelerated what was looking like a slow burn into fully turning heel
stephanie vaquer is not that big of a name to justify an arena of fans being 100% behind her as an outsider vs mercedes who is supposed to be the biggest star in the whole company
she's always been a polarizing figure with that demographic of fans so it was a matter of time before they eventually turned especially when she's playing a babyface which she has historically always been weak as, it was brewing from the moment she said she'd be back in wwe one day before debuting and the creative control comments that people are running with is just yet another thing they're latching onto to justify the hatred
