Hayward's a more pure shooter to me...and I think they're similar athletically...though the more I watch Hayward in the league the more I think he's more athletic than McDermott
but I think McDermott's overall offense is more well rounded...he's much better in the post...and his mid-range game is extremely diverse...I also think he's a better passer and more efficient with his game than Hayward
Hayward I believe is taller and a little lankier
both of them are liabilities on defense...similar rebounders
I've been surprised by Hayward...i didn't see the potential at Butler...I like McDermott more, because I think his frame can hold a little more weight and I think he's craftier inside to complement his outside game...but I was way off on Hayward...i thought he'd be nothing more than a spot up shooter...and he's been much better than that.

I'll take your word for it...I don't get to see the Jazz play often enough to make a truly informed opinion...I easily could've caught him on a couple off nights when I did see him play.

He re-purposed his game, dude was a post player in HS but now can play on the perimeter and straight abuses people in the post because they try to defend him with the athletic "long" athlete that is used to guarding people outside.
