Aliens probably see us as “nature” as well. If FAA compliant lights serve a purpose in our society than I can conceive of a reason why they’d use FAA compliant lights when they’re flying in our airspace. You’re acting as if it would be some huge undertaking for them to modify their craft to be similar to ours to fit whatever their objectives are. I'm not making a judgment call about aliens at all. I'm just saying the thing we're calling drones in the sky most likely are drones, in the sky, with FAA compliant lights.
And make small robots look like insects of the square cubed law. Nature has already shown us how to hack surface area and volume, why change what we know works?
