90's NBA >>>

Yo, what year/series of the playoffs was it when he went off for 40 points like (I think) 4 or 5 games in a row? I think that this was without Shaq, and the Magic still lost the series, but I remember him just straight going OFF for like an entire week, to the point where the other team just pretty much had to concede him those points and focus on winning in other ways.

Maybe I'm remembering it wrong, or thinking of someone else, but I have a memory of that happening.

97 1st round series against the Heat. Back when 1st rounds were still best of 5

Magic were down 0-2 and Penny dropped back to back 40 point games to even it up, Miami won Game 5.

I think youtube links were posted earlier in the thread

KJ was a beast in his prime

Kevin Johnson - A Force - YouTube

Injuries got him too :to:

Might be the most underrated player of the 90's.

One of only 3 players in NBA history to average over 20 points and 12 assist in a season(Joining Magic and Isiah Thomas) and he did it twice.

Averaged at least 20 points and 10 assist per game for 3 straight years.

Always took it to another level in the playoffs.Even though they lost those series against the Rockets, this dude used to murder Kenny Smith.I'm surprised Kenny never talks about it on TNT....but then again, I can see why not.....in the '95 playoffs, he averaged something ridiculous like 35ppg and 10 assist. To bad Barkley didn't believe in practicing and playing defense. Those Suns teams used to half ass it in the playoffs.Paul Westphal was to laid back for that squad. They needed a disciplinarian out there. They probably would have 2 titles right now

KJ destroyed Magic Johnson in the 1990 playoffs and mind you this was a still in his prime Magic. He used to just abuse him, Magic couldnt guard KJ if his life depended on it

I wish I could find some videos of that playoff series

My uncle got a homeboy who played against KJ in High School.

I remember the first time I asked him what it was like playing against him, and he literally let out a loud "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO":ooh: Immediately followed up with a :wow:

"You couldn't do nothing with that boy out there on the court:sadcam:"

He told me KJ literally lit his squad up with one hand behind his back.Like he put his right hand behind his back and lit they ass up with just his left hand.

:wow: I remember watching his college games with my grandparents when I was a kid when he played here.

Even bought my grandma a Penny mug that's still in the kitchen right now.

I need to get one of those champion black pinstripe jerseys off of ebay soon.
