See this is what I’m talking about here :laff:

Now I will say, this was the last good intro theme, and you still had star power on both shows, but there were very little actually good things from this era. This era pretty much was the first time I started losing interest in wrestling and wondered why I was still entertaining it.

Mid 00s HHH had

WM 20 triple threat
The various matches with Benoit
Various matches with Shelton
The insane bloodbath cage match with Flair
The Batista matches
The Cena WM match
The highly underrated match with Big Show at NYR 2006

:yeshrug:

Things fall apart once the DX reunion came into being, but surely there has to be a couple of good matches to come from that if you can ignore the terrible promos.

He had his eugene stuff pushed over Benoit
His matches with Shelton led to nothing for some reason..even though they had Vince himself put him over HUGE the night before Taboo Tuesday 04
Yes..he put over company man Cena and his friend Batista..kudos for that

The era of wrestling you grew up with is the one you cherish and value more than any other. Actually, that's not just with wrestling, but all forms of entertainment.

Nostalgia is one of the most potent drugs out there and everyone takes it. I look back on late 2000s/early 2010s WWE like it was quality TV. If the product was more like it was in 2008 and 2009, I would still be heavily invested in it. Because that was my era, and the positive qualities are what turned me on to wrestling for life. Even some negative qualities (2009 DX) are qualities I appreciate.

Mike Scully talked about this in an interview a few years ago. When the Every Simpsons Ever marathon came out, there were people tweeting every day about how much they were enjoying it and how they grew up on the episodes. Even though a lot of people believe the show went bad around season nine or ten, those later episodes were still getting love and appreciation. Everybody has their era and they hold it close to their heart. :yeshrug:

you wresting elitist kill me :russ:

Someone who has their own opinion doesn’t know shyt bout wrestling huh? I gotta stop coming in this section.

y’all be on some other shyt when I say I fukked with Chris Masters and early/mid 2000s Triple H :francis:

Triple H was cutting boring ass 20 minute promos to start RAW every week. He'd be in tier 0 garbage ass feuds too. Remember Katie Vick? Mufukka thought that shyt was comedy gold. Go fire up the WWE Network and try to rewatch any of his stuff from the mid-2000's. I guarantee you won't be able to sit through it.

I grew up during the cena era (2005-2009) those years I was watching like crazy so to me I will always look back on those years with fond memories. But I can see how someone who grew up on austin/rock can see it as shytty. Like op said Raw was garbage in 2006. Well to me, that was my favorite year ever in wrestling lol

Homie was eating up TV time like crazy, fighting with Eugene, Kane, ABA Taker, etc in terrible matches. I felt like every RAW involved some boring brawl or Triple H brutalizing someone with his hammer. Outside of a few bright spots, I was not impressed at all. Felt very forced.
