Wrestling fans kill me with their revisionist. I was binge watching old wwe intros and nikkas in the comment section always talking bout the good old days.

Smackdown was ass in 2004. Outside of Cena and Eddie's story-arc wasn't shyt interesting about Smackdown. Don't even get me started on how shytty Raw was, especially in 2006 omg.

I feel like only the WWE has been revising that era, along with people that were 8 years old in 2004. It’s always hilarious seeing the years go back and talk about the “good old days” in reference to some trash that happened in 06 or so. I’ll peep a random vid on YouTube and see a bunch of “:noah::noah:why can’t the WWE be like this anymore?” and it’s a vid of Heidenreich forming LOD 2005 with Road Warrior Animal or a Snitsky match.

I still feel like 2002-2007 had more good than bad.. Actually, 2002-03 is probably my favorite two year stretch outside of '97-'98

2008 and on is when shyt got real bad :hhh:

02-03 Smackdown wise can hold up to any peak wrestling years. 04-05 had a couple standouts on both shows, but still dicey. 06-07 was horrible in every way.

I honestly feel that 2008 is a year that gets a bad rep. Thats the year Jeff became a superstar. 2008 also had the legendary Edge/Undertaker and HBK/Jericho feud. Wrestlemania 24 was great and the buildup for the HBK/Flair match and Triple H/Cena and Orton match was great. MVP and Matt Hardy also had their entertaining rivalry.

Smackdown in 2002 was great damn near every feud on the cards were entertaining and made sense. Raw in 04 was actually pretty good but 06-07 was ass.

That Cena and Umaga feud was piff and then Cena/HBK at Mania and the whole WM 23 was pretty good.. Cena/Lashley was good too. I like 2007.

I grew up watching Smackdown from 02-07. Loved every bit of it during that time. Looking back, SD from 02-WM20 held up great. Post WM20 is when there was a lot of terrible shyt.

For it to be a transition year, 2008 was very good. Even the PG half of it wasn't bad.

Agree with this, but outside of HBK vs Jericho on Raw, I can’t remember anything else from Raw in 08. SD on the other hand was killing it with Rey, Morrison, Punk, Shelton, MVP, Taker, Edge and Umaga. I think HHH was involved in some good stuff when he finally got drafted to SD. Now that I think about it, I’m starting to remember the Batista/HBK feud. Damn, Raw barely had anything even during down times :mjlol:

Wrestling nostalgia is based on age of the observer:

I love wrestling (always have) but it’s always been a notoriously cheesy form of entertainment. Other than when it really popped the mainstream and mainstream culture was becoming more “edgy” from like 96-99 or so with SCSA/Tyson, DX, NWO etc (and I’m not here to argue the exact years :whoa:) any time of wrestling can really be seen as good or cheesy depending on the age of the observer.

You won’t be able to tell me that someone who was 8 years old 2 years ago won’t look back at Finn Balor and say he wasn’t the dopest shyt. Me as an adult have always thought it was comical how he was booked against guys who towered over him :mjlol:
