Just finished it - maybe I'm just desensitized, but there was nothing that stood out as particularly bad. Standard stuff if you've seen any Comedy Central roast, nothing that will kill the company lmao. Honestly they could've just released it and edited out a couple jokes.

In a roast, sure, the humor thrives on being edgy and over-the-top, but there's still a line. The goal is usually to tease someone or exaggerate a public persona in a way that's clever, biting, or even absurd, *not* to rely on lazy or harmful stereotypes, especially without a real punchline. What's funny about implying Shinsuke eats dogs? Or using the stereotype of Black women as aggressive or "pitbulls" about Bianca? Or about a Punjabi Sikh and ISIS?

Those are just lazy cheap shots without any wit or subversion.

These "comedians" hide behind roasts or their profession to be as offensive as they can be guilt-free. And like you said, they're not coming up with clever material, they're just relying on lazy stereotypes and jokes that were played out over thirty years ago. I'm surprised one of them didn't do the whole "you know how black people are like this, but white people are like that" routine. Add in a couple swear words, and boom. You're a comedian now.

I don't know why WWE even advertised the roast if they didn't want it released in any capacity. They have tapes of Owen Hart's accident and Droz getting paralyzed that still haven't been seen almost thirty years later, but the audio for this leaked in three days. Their PR has been in the garbage all week.

If you told these racist stereotype "jokes" at a work event you'd be gone in no time. Some people signed up to be made fun of... others did not.

"Tony makes jokes about Puerto Rico, when he has the mustache of a 12 year old homeless kid from San Juan. Though to be honest, sometimes the 12 year olds are the smartest people in the room. Let's be nice to the 12 year olds - one of them's getting married later down the road to Jerry The King Lawler."

Paul E. went for blood there :lolbron:
