A few notes on the Wrestle War show. First off, the show appears to have done either a 1.1 or 1.3 percent buy rate, depending upon which source one chooses to believe. What that means is the show was ordered by somewhere between 140,000 and 170,000 homes, which constitutes a total gross of $2.8 to $3.4 million. WCW's share of this would be between $1.1 and $1.4 million. The crowd in Phoenix was approximately 6,800 fans in a building set up for 13,000, of which 4,300 were paid for a live gate of $53,000. In comparison, the WWF show the previous night had about 6,000 fans, about 4,800 paid, for a live gate of $60,000. Characteristically, officials from both companies claimed a "victory" in the weekend head-to-head competition. WWF officials said it was a success because they ran a regular house show opposite a WCW PPV show and still drew a larger paid attendance and gate. One WCW official afterwards claimed it as a victory because they produced a PPV show "that Wrestlemania won't be able to touch."
90s slang was weird in hindsight, that's up there with "getting dem digits" and "raise the roof!"homie dont play that
